The mkquadrat winery was founded by two friends and wine enthusiasts Klaus Küsters and Michael Meier. In spring 2021, they acquired the winery in Kallstadt which was the perfect location to actualise their ideas and philosophy.
The two founders are long-time friends, down-to-earth and deeply rooted in the Palatinate region, with the same passion for art, culture and good food. They also share the same ideas when it comes to wine and are now putting these into practice in the mkquadrat winery by producing top-quality wines.
They possess ample expertise: On the one hand, Klaus Küsters has the knowledge and experience to lead the winery to success. On the other hand, Michael Meier, a wine enthusiast and hobby winemaker, is applying his advanced business expertise to this new challenge.
The team is completed by Wolfgang Grün, a skilled winemaker with extensive experience in Germany and abroad. As a long-standing employee of the winery, he knows the ins and outs of the winery and its vineyards.

Riesling Kreidkeller 2023
The Kallstadter Kreidkeller Riesling is grown and matured in our cool location at 300 metres above sea level. These special conditions give it a pronounced minerality and flavours of peach and citrus fruit. Complemented by a salty note and an impressive length, the result is a full-bodied flavour that delights at just 12° alcohol.
Sauvignon Blanc 2024
The Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is fresh and vibrant with a juicy, easy-drinking style.
Aromas of gooseberry are joined by light grassy tones. On the palate, it’s clear and precise, supported by elegant, well-integrated acidity that gives the wine freshness and structure. The finish is long-lasting and highlights the lively style of this Sauvignon Blanc.
Riesling Steinacker 2024
The Riesling Steinacker 2024 was aged in both, large oak barrels and stainless steel. The particularly long storage on the leese gives the Riesling additional complexity. Aromas of yellow fruits develop and get supported by a prominent mineral finish.

Pinot Noir Réserve 2021
The Pinot Noir Réserve 2021 was aged 100% in barrique barrels and is extremely delicate and elegant. Aromas of blackberries and cherries, unfold in the nose. Complemented by subtle herbal notes and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, it is well-balanced with a long, harmonious finish.
A perfect match for cozy hours by the fireplace or with selected meat dishes.
Syrah Réserve 2021
The Syrah Réserve of the year 2021 is aged in 225-liter oak barrels from France.
The Syrah combines power and elegance with unique aromas of black currants and dark berries. These are paired with very intense scents of wood, herbs and a hint of tobacco.
