About us

In the German Rheinhessen region we discovered our true calling many years ago and took over the Wohlgemuth winery, including vineyards in some of Rheinhessen’s finest slopes. Since then, our family has lived for, with and from wine - with love - as our passion!

As newcomers to the wine industry, we have maintained our sense of creative independence. This allows us to honor the tradition of winemaking while embracing our own philosophy of quality and exploring new paths as winemakers. Along the way, respect and gratitude remain our guiding principles - toward nature, which we depend on - and toward the people with whom we live and work.

We are certified with the FairChoice-Seal by the German Institute for Sustainable Development (DINE) in Heilbronn. This seal not only officially recognizes our commitment to sustainability but also provides ongoing guidance and support to ensure that every decision and action we take in the future is as sustainable as possible. Since 2025 we started to work organic to get the organic certification.

Distinctive and aromatic wines from new grape varieties - these are for us the key to sustainable and responsible winemaking. For over 15 years we have been working passionately and with full conviction with Johanniter, Sauvignac and more. As specialists in resistant grape varieties (Piwi) we bring extensive experience and expertise to cultivating and crafting these exciting wines.

The so-called fungus-resistant grape varieties - or PIWIs - produce flavorful and sophisticated wines while offering a robust and natural resistance to mildew. This enables us to reduce our use of plant protection products by up to 80%, significantly lowering our CO₂ emissions and minimizing soil compaction in our vineyards. Today these varieties thrive on nearly 60% of our vineyard area.

The Schnürr wines are the essence of our winemaking. Always dry, always distinct, with or without oak aging, sometimes experimental, always unique.

Chardonnay 2023

Aged in new and used oak. Rich yellow fruit, ripe apricot, banana, with a subtle hint of vanilla. Followed by a creamy texture, delicate and restrained wood spice, and a strong mineral finish. Very aromatic, very intense, perfect for pairing with food or for an evening by the fireplace."

Riesling 2023

Everything you expect from a Riesling: lots of juicy aromas of apple and peach, great acidity structure, freshness, and good balance. Dry, effortless, juicy and well-balanced.

Muscaris 2023 lieblich

Muscaris is a new fungus resistant variety. This one is a playful, delicate sweet wine, showing a true explosion of flavors. Rich in aromas of ripe honeydew melon, black currant, elderberry, and juicy lychee. Along with the ethereal freshness of bergamot and mineral notes. On the palate, it has a juicy fullness and an enticing interplay of sweetness and acidity.

Muscaris FEINGEIST 2023

This off-dry version of the fungus-resistant Muscaris enchants with delicate floral notes of yellow rose, peppery hints, and a touch of nutmeg. There are also sweet lychee and ripe elderflower, all playful and full of lightness. A cool and spicy wine with fine elegance, the finish marked by crisp acidity and a long aftertaste.

Sauvignac 2023

Sauvignac is one of the new fungus resistant varieties with an intense aroma of ripe yellow fruits like apricot and also juicy gooseberry. Followed by subtle notes of green pepper and a stimulating and fresh acidity on the palate.

BRUNNENHÄUSCHEN Riesling 2023

Our top Riesling - grown in one of the best slopes in the Rheinhessen region, characterized by clay marl, limestone, and limestone rocks.

The 2023 vintage was harvested at full ripeness and spontaneously fermented in stainless steel. Typical spontaneous notes, plenty of ripe fruit, and a fine acidity structure reflect its origin and the great potential of this wine.

Pinot noir 2025

Our Pinot noir is driven by a juicy cherry nose, with a hint of sour cherry, spicy and intensely fruity. A gentle tannin structure and harmoniously integrated wood spice. Fine acidity, juicy, and well-balanced.

Cabertin 2022

Cabertin is one of the best red fungus resistant varieties. Aged in oak it shows an international style with aromas of sloe, blueberry, and wild berries. It also features a straightforward, international Cabernet Sauvignon style with hints of green pepper, an athletic body, and elegant character. On the palate, it offers plenty of juiciness, noticeable acidity, and ripe tannins. This wine can certainly be cellared for a while longer.
