High Quality Wines from Ungstein, Palatinate

In 1903, winegrowers from Ungstein/Bad Dürkheim decided to join forces with the clear target of producing excellent wines, offering an outstanding value-for-money ratio. Our highly rewarded and successful cooperative is located in Ungstein in the heart of the prestigious wine region Palatinate in the South West of Germany. Today, Weinwelt Herrenberg-Honigsäckel eG cultivates grapes on 185 ha with an annual production volume of 1.5 mio bottles.

Our vineyards are located at the Mittelhardt section in Palatinate, one of the best terroirs for the world famous German Rieslings. We grow our grapes on prestigous vineyards around the village of Ungstein like Herrenberg, Nussriegel, Weilberg and Osterberg and on the popular Dürkheimer Feuerberg. There is a long tradition in winegrowing in Paltinate since the Romans started to cultivate grapes in our region more than 2000 years ago.

The vineyards are influenced by the Rhine Valley on one side, Germany’s warmest and most fertile agricultural region. On the other side they are sheltered by the Palatinate forest in the West, providing constantly mild weather conditions during the course of the year.

The special climatic position allows us not only to cultivate typical German grapes such as Riesling and Spätburgunder. We love to work with special grape varieties such as Tempranillo, the Prosecco Grape Glera and Viognier or new sustainable varieties like Soreli, Muscaris and Souvinier Gris.

Specialities like the rare Icewine or alcohol free wine and Sekt Méthode Traditionelle are successful products of our catalogue.
