About us
In 1966, the merger of three top-notch wineries – Bischöfliches Konvikt, Bischöfliches Priesterseminar, and Hohe Domkirche – gave birth to a holistically thriving estate, the Bischöfliche Weingüter Trier.
Spanning approximately 130 hectares, this estate boasts a collection of internationally acclaimed vineyards in the Mosel, Saar, and Ruwer regions. Notable among these are Dhroner Hofberger (4.2 ha) and Piesporter Goldtröpfchen (1.3 ha) on the Mosel, Scharzhofberger (6.3 ha), Kanzemer Altenberg (5.9 ha), and Ayler Kupp (10.2 ha) on the Saar, and Kaseler Nies’chen (3.1 ha) on the Ruwer.
With such a wealth of exceptional vineyards at its disposal, Bischöfliche Weingüter Trier produces Riesling in all its diverse expressions, solidifying its standing as a celebrated and timeless destination in the Mosel region.
In addition to its own holdings, Bischöfliche Weingüter Trier has expanded its reach since 2003, cultivating the vineyards of Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium GbR, which were acquired from Bischöfliches Priesterseminar.
