Bruno of Cologne, founder of the Carthusian Order, left a lasting legacy. The monks of the former monastery, founded in 1335, inscribed his name in large metal letters on its façade—a symbol that still inspires us today in facing our daily challenges: steep slopes, slate soils, and meticulous handcraft.

The grapes for this wine grow in an old parcel of the Karthäuserhofberg, rooted in sparse, slate-rich soils with a southwest exposure—ideal conditions for cultivating exceptional Riesling.

To preserve the delicate aromas crafted by the vines, we harvest all grapes by hand, apply gentle pressing, and practice minimal intervention in the cellar. What we invest, however, is something essential: time. Patience pays off in viticulture, pressing, fermentation, and aging. We avoid fining, allow natural sedimentation, and add only a touch of sulfur.

An intense bouquet of pear, white peach, and honeydew melon, complemented by hints of hazelnut and subtle roasted aromas. On the palate, it’s dense and structured, bursting with juiciness and power, yet balanced by a seductive creaminess that makes the mild acidity feel more like refreshing brightness. The finish lingers with a combination of vibrant fruit intensity and spicy minerality.
